I'll also checkout Blogging Toward Sunday....find myself thinking about how Paul suffered separation/condemnation/suffering and through that made his bold and hopeful claims of faith...there's that aspect of coming thru those kinds of experiences as the result of grasping onto those promises and/or coming thru them and affirming them that has always been powerful to me. The question of theophany and theodicy dance here too - God-encounter and the encounter of suffering. Will also look at NIB - I have the NIB Study Bible and it's already been most helpful - Barth is heavy reading but have waded thru some of that as well!
